I had the privilege to attend and present at this year’s International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) conference held at the Library of Congress in Washington DC. The title of this year’s conference was ‘A World of Opportunity: Audiovisual Archives and the Digital Landscape’. and I wanted to share some brief insights about my experience.

DAMsmart has recently completed a digitisation project for WIN Corporation and Crawford Productions PTY LTD, digitising iconic Australian Television series from the 60’s though to the 90’s.

To extend on my previous post, technical metadata is critical in a multi stream video digitisation environment with video originating from many different formats.

The Symposium program covers sessions titled Iconic Spaces, Iconic People and Iconic Events and features a range of speakers.

Joe will be presenting at the 2011 SEAPAVAA conference being held in KL, Malaysia starting on June 6. The presentation considers questions surrounding outsourcing preservation and digitisation projects.
